OXLOW CAVERN, MASKILL MINE &: NETTLE POT ACCESS RESTORED

, November 2001:

We've had word that access to Oxlow Cavern, Maskill Mine & Nettle Pot has been restored. This will take effect on Monday 26th November 2001. The land owner has requested that all cavers disinfect their boot in the trough provided. As before permission to visit caves must be sought prior to going on to the land. Call at Oxlow House Farm (small fee charged).

OXLOW CAVERN FIXED LADDER REMOVAL

, November 2001:

Now that access has been restored to Oxlow Cavern it seems likely that the fixed ladder that leads up from the West Antechamber into Pilgrims Way will be removed and relaced with a pull-through system. The reason for this intended removal is one of liability with the club who installed it not wanting to be, or feel responsible for it's condition.
