Entrance of Mouldridge Mine

Access

The mine is on land belonging to Pike Hall Farm (Mr Steve Sherratt, tel (reveal)). The land is open access under the CRoW Act and access to the mine does not require prior permission from the owner provided visitors access the land through the narrow double gated enclosure opposite Holly Bush Farm (SK 19312 59114) and avoid crossing roadside field containing riding arena & cattle pens. Please ensure the gates are not left open. Adit entrance is fitted with a heavy but unlocked grill. Nearby shaft has lid secured by hexagonal nut needing large spanner. Leave the entrances secure at all times. Parking is available for a handful of vehicles on the edge of the gravel track directly opposite the twin gates (SK 19328 59089). Do not block the track.
