Surface access via public footpath southwest from where Batham Gate road crosses the rake workings. Passing the large open quarry, shaft top is on furthest hillock on the right before the field boundary fence.

Warning

Shaft is 120m deep. Several sections of the mine are extremely loose in places, and rescue from some sections would be extremely difficult. Do not take unnecessary risks in this site.
