Perryfoot Carpark Shafts

Entrance of Perryfoot Carpark Shafts

build Derbyshire Key required.

Three small climbing shafts, approx. 8m deep covered with regulation Derbyshire Council manhole covers - only two are accessible. No access agreement currently in place.

Lids are hinged in the centre, and can be accidentally dropped down the shaft - TWO manhole lifting keys MUST be used. A sentry MUST remain in place on surface at all times due to the very public location. Do not leave lid off unattended, as visitors could be blocked in if a vehicle parks over an opened shaft. Take care with tipped rubbish heap at base of main shaft - some broken glass and other debris still present. Please report any incidents at this site to DCA immediately.
