Watergrove Shaft

Access

The sough tail lies between the sharp bend and the bottom of Farnsley Lane in Stoney Middleton Dale, where the water is piped under the main road. A lidded shaft (Well Shaft) lies north of the road a little further west.

Permission from Tarmac is unlikely to be given. The small shaft which drops into the sough is within the area of Horseshoe Quarry which is owned by BMC. No access restrictions but ensure that shafts are not left uncovered.
